Dr Hoang Nguyen is actively contributing to the Landslides and AI project titled “Physics-informed deep-learning surrogate models and generative computational AI for landslide analysis in spatially random soils” in collaboration with Dr Xuejian Chen, Professor Rita Sousa, and Professor Xingsen Gou. The research has recently expanded to investigate failure mechanisms in deep-sea environments, employing advanced numerical frameworks integrated with deep learning.

At the GM3 organised at University College London in 2016, Professor Malcolm Bolton asked me, “When will you make another presentation?” Such a simple question pushed me forward. It later led to two short research papers: a) CS-FEM and b) NS-FEM published in the proceedings of the IS-Cambridge 2022, Cambridge, United Kingdom, 27–29 June 2022.
Dr Hoang Nguyen is grateful to Professor Guy Houlsby at Oxford University and Professor Malcolm Bolton at Cambridge University for their guidance during his research career. Their guidance and support have been invaluable in his research journey.
